“AMAZING GRACE”

Everyday, when I wake- up I hear the Holy Spirit singing to me and I’m reminded of how blessed I am. Being able to hear God’s voice and walk- in His presence, is an amazing blessing. It was not always so; those who fought the good fight and won many battles so that you and I would have Jesus today paid the price with their lives. The story of Uzzah really showed us how cruel the law of God was towards men. Although the law was good but its purpose was to reveal to God how guilty we were. “When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God” (2Sam6:6-7). King David and his man were celebrating the battle they won because of God’s favor but there joy shortly became bitter for they were reminded of their limitation because of the law. The law forbidden anyone to approach God or touch the ark and the penalty was death. This penalty was inflicted upon Uzzah, and he was the first that suffered for a breach of this law. Now, look at us today? We are tardy with our church attendance, tardy with studying the word of God, tardy with our worship to God and forget praying; we just don’t have the time to stop and thank God. Jesus Christ who took this penalty for us and gave us accessed to this God who was far off but now is near. We have full access into his presence. Oh, not just access but “BOLD ACCESS” that says “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Heb4:16). What? Is that the same God who killed Uzzah on spot for trying to help with the Ark? Wow, what any amazing grace!!! What can we say for our tardiness toward this amazing grace? Nothing, just come back or continue walking in obedience to God. Jesus loves us “SO MUCH” he took our place of penalty. Jesus loves for us is too great to remain in lack. Open your heart to God and let Him show this great love.
